Tableware and produce trays are visible starting points, but moulded fibre can serve a broader set of protective, food-service, consumer and industrial packaging applications.

Applications follow performance

The opportunity should not be defined by a product list. It should be defined by load, temperature, cushioning, barrier, geometry, finish and logistics requirements.

Tooling changes the product space

Better mould design, heating, venting, surface control and trimming expand what the process can produce. Product development and manufacturing engineering must therefore evolve together.

Market development is engineering work

New applications require trials, specifications, qualification and customer education. A good product is not automatically a developed market.

Practical implication

Evaluate the complete system rather than one isolated input or machine. Define the requirement, identify the variables that influence it, measure the result and retain what the factory learns.
